Improving Lives Locally is a Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Birmingham, dedicated to delivering targeted, impactful support to individuals and communities across the West Midlands.

We put our residents at the heart of everything we do. Our work is shaped by local data, lived experience and community insight allowing us to focus on the areas and people who need support the most.

Our work is built around four key areas which are:

1. Building Stronger Communities

We focus on place-based support that strengthens community wellbeing, resilience and engagement. We aim to improve the environments and relationships that shape people’s everyday lives.

2. Learning and Development

We offer inclusive and accessible learning opportunities that build foundational knowledge, boost confidence and support personal growth. Our programmes help individuals understand and navigate the pathways available to them.

3. Upskilling and Reskilling

We equip individuals with practical, vocational and transferable skills that respond to the evolving job market. Our training is designed to help people adapt, progress and prepare for sustainable employment.

4. Pathways into Employment

We support individuals to transition into work through tailored employability services, including CV writing, interview preparation and direct connections to local work experience and job opportunities. ​

We work in collaboration with partners across the West Midlands, including local authorities, charities, voluntary and community organisations as well as independent training providers. This joined-up approach helps us deliver holistic support that addresses real challenges and creates lasting change.​
